I revised and optimized the existing MVP through detailed planning, close collaboration with development, and insights from user testing. The design adhered closely to the Bosch style guide, which I extended specifically for this project. Finally, design specifications were handed over to development, and the implementation was thoroughly reviewed.
problem statement
To protect systems and products from hacker attacks, security managers must conduct highly complex threat and risk analyses. Currently, these analyses are performed using multiple disconnected tools, making the process both time-consuming and prone to errors. To streamline their workflow and safeguard sensitive data, this tool was developed, addressing the inefficiencies and risks associated with the existing methods.
APPROACH
First, I scheduledmeetings with key stakeholders to gather essential information. My predecessor, who developed the initial concept, introduced me to the project, and the product owners briefed me on the background of the application. I also participated in user testing of the current concept and took detailed notes. Finally, we discussed the next steps and milestones with the team.
DESIGN PROCESS
First, I reviewed my predecessor’s concept and information architecture, and organized the results from the last user test to iterate on the concept. We planned the next round of user tests and identified the features we wanted to evaluate. I refined these features based on key findings and created an interactive prototype. In a usability test, I validated the prototype with employees, finalized the concept, and handed it over to the developers.
Next, the tool was to be integrated into a larger application to support the entire workflow of the security manager. To ensure teamalignment, I led ideation sessions with product owners, security managers, and developers. The resulting concept and designs were completed and passed on to my successor for further development.
QUOTES
So I feel familiar now. So I could start 1:1 relatively fast to what I have done since then. I would not need any training.
Participant 1
We had had something familiar before. There is already a small learning effect there now.

Learnings
communication is the job!
The relevance of the cooperation between UX and development during concept work is essential to make sure, everyone is working together rather. This way, the other side understands the respective constraints and decisions better and is more motivated to implement them. Nevertheless, good communication as a designer is still essential in order to be able to represent the users appropriately.
