I designed a smart health app, which emphasizes with the given persona and helps him to live a happy and healthy life.
problem statement
Design a smart app as a companion for a given Persona, which gains trust and therefor increasingly gets access to his smartphone. It also learns to understand his behavior, needs and goals. As a personal butler it supports him with the challenges in life and helps him to become better everyday.
APPROACH
In order to get a feeling for the current fitness apps on the market, an online research was first conducted. The collected information was clustered by the participants using the card sorting method, to get a first impression of the information architecture. Finally, a corresponding concept was created from the requirements, transferred to wireframes and implemented in the design.
DESIGN PROCESS
The research showed that fitness apps can be divided into 3 main categories. Through card sorting, relevant content was clustered to provide information for navigation. The participants were also able to express additional wishes, which is of particular importance for such an app. The collected content was used to create sketches of initial ideas. By further developing an information architecture, consistency within the system could be guaranteed.
QUOTES
I don't like how so many fitness and health apps put their focus on calories and BMI. [...] I would love an app that focusses more on celebrating different goals and personal improvements (run a longer distance, do more push-ups or simply make a routine out of going for a walk every day.
Participant 2
There should be no need for the user to actively feed the app with information - this should be tracked automatically. I personally would like something to review / overview different fields of my active life [...]. I also feel a strong community is a key factor. Share your insights, rate experiences, compete with other community members. That motivates!

Learnings
seek critical feedback constantly!
The challenge to do the project alone was a great experience and a lot of fun. Nevertheless, the course should have worked more closely together to give each other feedback more often. Especially when working alone, opinions from outsiders are very valuable.
